Central Point Real Estate Information

Central Point, Oregon is located in the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon. Central Point is just north of and borders the Jackson County seat, Medford. The city is accessible from Interstate 5 by two exits, numbers 30 and 33. The city grew from just 12,500 in population to just over 17,000 in 2007. Several new subdivisions were built during this time.

Central Point is home to the Jackson County Fairgrounds. The Jackson County Fair is held every year in the second week of July. A harvest and wine festival is held at the fairgrounds in October. Inside the fairgrounds is the Lithia Amphitheater. In the amphitheater, concerts are held during the fair. This year’s concerts include Jason Aldean, Bill Engvall, Grand Funk Railroad and Sawyer Brown.

When fair is not in session, the amphitheater is used by the Britt Festival for some of their larger summer concerts. There is a public event at the fairgrounds almost every weekend of the year.

Along Highway 99, in the northern part of the city, an artisan corridor is being developed. The Rogue Valley Creamery, which has been in business since 1935 is the anchor of the artisan corridor. The creamery produces several varieties of hand-milled cheese, including Rogue River Blue. Next-door is Lillie Bell Farms Chocolates. This European style chocolate factory has some very special bonbons. A fresh produce market and wine tasting room are expected to open soon. Farther north along Highway 99 but before Interstate 5, is Seven Oaks Farms. The family that runs this farm first settled in the Rogue Valley in 1884 and has farmed in this location for several generations. Seven Oaks is open from early July to the end of October.

Central Point is located at the center of the Rogue Valley. Come for a visit and you may even find yourself wanting to live in Central Point.
